What we want to do
The next steps, and how you can be part of them
These are the projects we are working toward. Each one is open to sponsors, donors and academic collaborators.
First molecular inventory of moths and beetles in Tlachinoltepetl
With the laboratory of Universidad Veracruzana, we will identify specimens with taxonomic and genetic precision. Field sampling begins once the SEMARNAT collection permit is granted.
Conscious Pest Management with chayote producers
A step-by-step program so producers can recognize their pests, monitor them and act only when needed, reducing agrochemical use on the slopes of Chocamán.
A black soldier fly rearing space in Chocamán
A small bamboo greenhouse to achieve a stable colony and turn organic waste into animal feed and fertilizer, as a model a local family can operate.
Field guides for the schools of Chocamán
A $5,000 MXN sponsorship puts 60 printed insect field guides in the hands of local students, delivered together with a talk.
