We have our eyes on the Chocam\u00e1n cloud forest, observation by observation. In Mexico\u2014one of the planet&#8217;s 17 megadiverse nations\u2014more than 85% of plants used by humans rely on pollinators to reproduce (Ashworth et al., 2009).<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"8\">The <i data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"4\">Diagnosis: Current Status of Pollinators in Mexico<\/i> (gob.mx) reviewed 399 studies to map this landscape. It revealed a major gap: while there is an abundance of information on bees, there is very little on nocturnal pollinators like moths\u2014with just 15 studies on nocturnal butterflies and moths across the entire country. At a global scale, IPBES highlights the three major threats: habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"9\">But a national diagnosis is a country-scale map. We documented two moths classified as threatened in the United States. On this page, we put the spotlight on the Giant Sphinx moth (<i data-path-to-node=\"13,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"239\">Cocytius antaeus<\/i>), because in addition to being threatened, it is a nocturnal pollinator\u2014the exact group the national diagnosis barely studies, and the core focus of our work here. The second, <i data-path-to-node=\"13,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"432\">Syssphinx raspa<\/i>, was recorded for its conservation value, even though as a saturniid moth it does not play a pollinating role. Some, like the <i data-path-to-node=\"13,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"163\">Polybia<\/i> wasp we have observed on chayote flowers, pollinate indirectly as they move from bloom to bloom; others, like the Mexican Honey Wasp (<i data-path-to-node=\"13,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"305\">Brachygastra mellifica<\/i>), even produce To buffer this drift, they rely on living barriers. However, in crops like chayote, the indiscriminate use of insecticides and acaricides directly hits pollinators. That is where we want to step in: partnering with chayote producers so they can manage their pests without wiping out their
